Yes, I know, another cat story, but I couldn’t resist 🙂

Hnoðra heilsast vel
Hnoðri recovering nicely

Kötturinn Hnoðri er allur að braggast en hann var fluttur á dýraspítala eftir að eldur kviknaði í húsi eigenda hans á Urðarstíg í Reykjavík. Slökkviliði gekk vel að slökkva eldinn, sem var bundinn við eldhúsið.

Hnoðri the cat is recovering, but was taken to an animal hospital after a fire broke out in his owner’s house on Urdarstigur in Reykjavik. Firemen were able to put out the fire, which started in the kitchen.

It is not known where Hnoðri was when the fire started, but he was rescued in bad condition from the house and was given oxygen. The cat was then taken by police car to Dr. Doolittle’s Veterinary Clinic on Skólavörðustígur. Hnoðri, who is a 13 year old Persian cat, suffered from smoke inhalation and inflamed airways. He is now on the road to recovery.

The phrase lífi blásið í hann is literally life blown into him. I don’t know if they did mouth-to-mouth on the cat, but the picture with the article shows firemen with an oxygen mask on him.

And it’s awesome that there’s an animal clinic called Dr. Doolittle’s 🙂
