An aluminum plant in Iceland is also producing baby ravens, according to a story on V\u00edsir. Workers at the plant noticed the birds back in early May, and a camera was set up to monitor their progress. Videos are available on the YouTube site<\/a> of one of the workers.<\/p>\n

The dictionary had hrei\u00f0ra sig<\/strong> meaning to build a nest<\/em>, and hrei\u00f0ra um sig<\/strong> as to settle down, make oneself comfortable<\/em>, but maybe it could go either way since we are<\/em> talking about birds here \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

The word used here for raven is krummi<\/strong>, but I’ve also seen hrafn<\/strong>. The verb used for hatch<\/em> is klekja<\/strong>, usually followed by the preposition \u00fat<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

I wasn’t sure if Nor\u00f0ur\u00e1l<\/strong> should be translated or not (Northern Aluminum?), so I just left it as a transliteration.<\/p>\n

The verb brei\u00f0a<\/strong> means spread<\/em>, often with \u00fat<\/strong>, but it can also be used with fyrir<\/strong> in the sense of drawing something closed as in the expression brei\u00f0a fyrir glugga<\/strong> (draw the curtains).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
